Malaria, HIV/AIDS, pneumonia, tuberculosis, diarrheal diseases, malnutrition, poor water access and sanitation lack of maternal and reproductive healthcare, lack of healthcare coverage, and poor education on health related issues tell stories of the global disease burden that debilitates or kills people of all ages. Each day, 22,000 children die from preventable causes. Every 45 seconds, a child dies from malaria. 80 percent of maternal mortality cases could be prevented by low cost obstetrics care. Nearly 1.8 million die every year from HIV/AIDS. Equipping community medical clinics, training, treatment, education, encouragement, and empowerment are vital tools to build towards the physical healing that often goes hand in hand with spiritual healing. Caring for the sick is fundamental to building towards healthy and holistic lifestyles for self, family, and community. When health indicators and life expectancy rise, greater opportunities for a hopeful and better future also rise.
